History
- Having its origins in De Buck coach company, De Buck Travel started as a full-service travel agency for individual customers in the 70s
- Located in the city centre of Ghent, De Buck Travel mainly offered family trips operated by its own De Buck coaches
- In the broad surroundings of Ghent, De Buck became synonymous with high-quality coach travel, both for groups and for individual clients
- De Buck established a well-known brand name and quality label
- At the same time, De Buck Travel expanded its range of products, offering the travel brochures of all of Belgium's major tour operators
- As well as the De Buck Travel in Ghent, a second agency was established in Eke, just outside Ghent (where their coach company was based)
- From the early 90s the entire coach travel branch was sidelined due to the popularity of affordable plane tickets
- This important market evolution inspired De Buck to introduce a drastic change in strategy
- De Buck chose a future-proof strategy, specialising in (preferably long-distance) travel by plane, instead of short-distance coach trips
- This big change was set in motion by the arrival of Veronique De Buck at her parents' company
- In just 8 years she managed to increase the turnover of De Buck Travel in Ghent by 500%!
- In May 2001, all the travel activities of Ghent and Eke were merged and concentrated in one strong everything-under-one-roof travel agency in Eke
- Easy access and ample parking facilities are the main assets in Eke
- For many years De Buck Travel has been specialising in all forms of travel designed for the world traveller
