South-East England

Back to 'What we do'

In Leeds we visit "the loveliest castle in the world" with its beautiful gardens and labyrinth.

Driving on to Royal Tunbridge Wells, we visit Penshurst Place...

... where poet Sir Philip Sidney had his 16th-century country house.

We discover the exuberant Roval Pavillion in Brighton.

But it gets even better at the dog races, where we're having lunch amongst numerous English families.

We sponsor ten races and one racing dog per participating couple. Everyone hopes their "own" dog will win!

Everyone gets pounds to place their bets. Atmosphere guaranteed! The winners get their prize.

We experience "British way of life" in the afternoon as well, in one of England's oldest golf clubs.

We get a golf "initiation", where everyone can "swing" and "putt" to their heart's content.

The third day there's a visit to Hever Castle, which was opened exclusively for our group.

Our guides entertain us with anecdotes about the extravagant king Henry VIII.

But gastronomy plays a part as well, with a Michelin restaurant even. Everyone is surprised by the high culinary standard!
